The first weekend of April features another slew of films intended to enchant, amaze, frighten, and reflect. And for the first time in a while, they are all worth seeing. Strangely, however, they are not particularly new. Evil Dead is a bloody, impressive remake of a 1979’s Sam Raimi cult horror; Jurassic Park is being re-released on its 20-year anniversary, while The Sapphires appeared at Cannes last year and Love, Marilyn appeared at TIFF and other festivals since its Fall premiere.
Nonetheless, they are all fairly impressive or enjoyable in their own way, and deserved of checking out.
