Another week, and another set of movies, and slowly but surely, they are becoming more intriguing and surprising, though at the same time they are becoming louder and sillier. Of the four major releases, two of them are far superior, and both feature young girls trying to grow up in a dangerous world. Spring Breakers is not what it seems, and Ginger & Rosa is heartfelt and heavy. Meanwhile, the two bigger releases, one an oft-delayed sequel, and another looking to start a franchise, are empty, predictable, and pandering.
