Concert Review: Wednesday Night, NXNE

Day One of the concerts for NXNE found me at the Gladstone Hotel and Ballroom by way of the always reliable Horseshoe Tavern. July Talk was the first band I opted to see, and thankfully they got the evening and week off to a solid start. They curious and fun, offering a sweaty, raspy-throated aggressive male rocker on guitar next to a beautiful, pixie of a woman with a sweet voice, making for a fun balance.

At the Gladstone, surrounded by myriad of insufferable hipsters, Adaline and later the Belle Game took to the stage, the former a electro-pop songstress with hypnotic tunes, and the latter a west coast youthful ensemble playing house party tunes.

There is more to be said and more to read, so please check out my reviews of July Talk, Adaline, and The Belle Game with Lithium Magazine.
