Review: CFC Worldwide Short Film Festival

For a thoroughly refreshing change of pace, a plethora of short films were on display in Toronto this past week, ranging from the brief and bizarre to long and brooding, from utterly inane to simply beautiful. It is a far different experience that watching a full-length feature film in a dark cinema, one that forces you to jump in quickly only to remove yourself just as fast.

Collected thematically in 90-minute segments, I had the fortune of catching quite a few selections, and while ultimately some shorts simply are forgettable, in every grouping there were a handful of gems that will be safely stored in my mind among in the annals of cinema.
