Cannes Movie Review: You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet!

My first French film of the Festival was not what I expected, and while initially a bit disappointing, it is starting to grow on me. I saw it at the Grand Lumiere Theatre during the day, not during the evening gala, but I just can’t imagine the latter. Despite the exciting title, there is nothing epic, sweeping, or pertaining to fanfare about this movie, though it is still interesting.

There is little to no set design, it takes place mostly in two different simple setting, and the film takes place across one evening. There plot is a clever one: a deceased writer summons his friends to enact his most popular play for his last request, and while the acting is commendable, the film is not meant for the big screen, or most screens for that matter.
