Concert Review: Saidah Baba Talibah, CMW

Another very worthy entry into the Canadian Music Week, and one more artist I was very fortunate enough to meet and see perform live, Saidah Baba Talibah offered a great set on the last night of CMW. Humble and sweet, yet confident and powerful on stage, Saidah got a very crowded Queen West bar very engaged, which is not exactly the easiest thing to do in Toronto.

Her blend of rock, classical, funk, and soul was better experienced in person, with her talented and feisty band backing behind. Like most during CMW, the set was around 30 minutes, all of it satisfying, but Saidah is certainly deserving and capable of things bigger and brighter.
