Movie Review: Silent House

For many, many months I have long hoped for a worthy horror film. The Devil Inside was laughable; The Woman in Black had chilling moments, but wasn’t memorable.

Now, with Silent House, not only do we have a scary and engrossing horror film, but one that is memorable, novel, and exceptionally well-executed. Running about 85 minutes long, in real time, there is no escape while watching the film. Elizabeth Olsen is captivating and impressive taking on such a demanding role, and the film is always compelling. It is certainly worth a watch in a dark, quiet theatre–just don’t look away.
